| Kershaw 5th in Kuusamo |
Canadian Devon Kershaw stormed back from the dissapointment of a sprint disqualification yesterday, finishing 5th in today's 15km classic World Cup in Kuusamo, Finland. The result marks Kershaw's career best distance finish in only the third race of the season.
It was a strong day across the board for North American skiers as Kris Freeman tied for 16th place, and Kikkan Randall posted an impressive 23rd place finish.
The men's race was won by Norway's Martin Johnsrud Sundby in a time of 37 minutes and 52.5 seconds. Czech Lukas Bauer took silver while Sami Jauhojaervi took bronze for the home country. On the women's side the Finns did not disappoint, sweeping the top two steps on the podium with Aino-Kaisa Saarinen in first and Virpi Kuitunen in second. Norwegian star Marit Bjoergen completed the podium.
Stefan Kuhn, coming of a career best 15th place in yesterday's sprint, finished in 68th place, while the lone Canadian woman Perianne Jones was 60th. American's Chris Cook and Torin Koos finished 64th and 65th respectively.
